CCTV Network Support Engineer – WD
What you will do Our Major Projects Group has teams around the UK and Ireland who are dedicated to delivering for our customers, high quality major projects across a broad range of sectors. We provide fire suppression (including sprinkler systems), fire detection, life safety, building management systems, security and integrated solutions to end users, developers and contractors.
Our Integrated Solutions team offer a range of integrated systems including video management systems, enterprise access control systems, software integration platforms, and video walls. The role of the Technical Specialist Engineer is to provide 2nd line support for the field engineers and clients, in order to maintain and service digital CCTV and associated electronic security, business process improvement, building management and AV systems on customer sites in London, the southeast and throughout the UK and overseas.
The role is varied, based from home with the opportunity to liaise and work alongside our own specialized engineers, equipment manufacturers, software suppliers and/or sub-contract maintenance companies across a variety of customers in both the public and private sector.
How you will do it As Technical Support Engineer you will have hands-on experience of supporting and maintaining IP Access Control systems, including single, multisite or enterprise systems. You will have the ability to develop your own knowledge and experience within the audio visual systems, including audio/video recorders, video-walls and displays whilst managing a varied customer base from either a remote access point or via onsite engagement. A key part of your role is to ensure regular communication with the Technical Services Manager, the Service Administration team and the UK Service Manager, to advise of progress and engage support when required.
You will handle ambiguity well, make decisions and effectively manage multiple stakeholders at any time. You will have excellent communication skills within a commercial environment whilst managing multiple priorities simultaneously because of your excellent planning, organization and leadership skills. You are intellectually curious – driving continual learning for you and your team. You also understand that internal and external collaboration drives improvement and best practice.
What we look for
Strong understanding of networking capabilities including the ability to configure network hardware Previous experience installing and supporting Microsoft windows operating systems, including network and security settings. Knowledge of Microsoft SQL server is desirable. A good appreciation of the wider field of IT alongside a broad understanding of computer system architecture and techniques Certification in an Enterprise-class Access Control or Video Management System (VMS) is highly desirable Ability to manage and influence both internal & external stakeholders at all levels Excellency in verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience
