Under the general supervision
of the Director of Pharmaceutical Services, the Clinical Applications Pharmacist
maintains clinical application systems for pharmaceutical services provided by
pharmacy staff.Service include, but are
not limited to, evaluation, design, implementation, maintenance and troubleshooting
computerized pharmacy information, assisting with training pharmacy staff as
well as serving as the departmental liaison to Medical Center’s Information
Systems and Services (ISS).The Clinical
Applications Pharmacist shall have access to the electronic healthcare record
[CareConnect- Willow ] applications needed to maintain and update NDCs in the
system, update drug costs and barcode scanning issues, troubleshoot staff
problems and work billing and router error queues.The Clinical Applications Pharmacist shall
also ensure the integration between the SupplyWorks split billing software and
the CareConnect Willow application so that the drug accumulations for 340B and
GPO purchases are maximized.
Pharm D. – Required, CA Pharmacist License – Required ASHP Accredited Residency – preferred
Epic certification in Willow Inpatient, Willow Ambulatory and Willow Inventory. [Note: required to pass certification exam in two attempts within 3 months]
Four years of experience in a similar healthcare system as a pharmacist
Prior experience with IT systems and systems development projects
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers and professional staff.
Ability to set priorities which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities.
Ability to perform job requirements with frequent interruptions and/or distractions.
Ability to work independently and follow through on assignments with minimal supervision.
Ability to complete assigned duties in a time-efficient manner.
Ability to communicate orally on a one-to-one basis using appropriate vocabulary and grammar to obtain information, explain policies and procedures, and to persuade others to accept or adopt a specific opinion or action.
Knowledge of state and federal regulations relating to the practice of pharmacy.
Knowledge of and compliance with California State Board of Pharmacy, University of California, and federal rules and regulation governing pharmacy.
