Customer Service Project Surveyor Part Time

Willmott Dixon is currently looking to recruit a Customer Service Project Surveyor. This role is with our London & East business who deliver projects across multiple sectors within north London, the northern home counties and East Anglia.

As part of this role, you will provide commercial expertise and be responsible for the commercial and contractual management of all matters within the Customer Service Department to ensure the department operates within budgets, our position is contractually protected whilst being mindful of the departments goal of ensuring we have a highly satisfied client throughout the defects period.

Within this role you will:

• Provide commercial and contractual support to the customer service department.
• Assist the Head of Customer Services in creating a culture of engagement with the operational teams to ensure customer service remains a high priority.
• Monitor expenditure of non-recoverable costs during the MGD period and beyond for all projects and take action where budgets are exceeded.
• When not carried out by the project surveyor, seek quotations for works required by the customer care department post practical completion.
• Provide expertise in reviewing, strategizing and responding to contractual notices from clients relating to post contract issues.
• Liaise and notify our insurers of any relevant matter where applicable.
• Monitor and analysis recovery of costs associated with the Service Level Agreement on all LCO projects and take action when required.
• Monitor, track and advise team to ensure retention monies are received on time.
• Prepare monthly reports on all commercial and contractual matters within the customer care department, including; actual MGD expenditure V set budget, actual SLA recovery V notices issued, schedule of on-going disputes and status, schedule of insurance claims and status.
• Consistently promote the company values & Group procedures.
• Maintain key relationships with supply chain, consultants and clients.
• Ensure the customer service and project team achieve or exceed budgeted targets regarding the Making Good Defect period and beyond.
• Identify potential disputes in a timely manner.
• Place high quality subcontract orders.
• Accurately value, certify and issue any relevant any payment notices for the subcontract works in accordance with the conditions of their subcontract.
• When not carried out by the project surveyor, ensure external valuations are submitted in accordance with the conditions of the main contract and that payments are received by the due date, taking full responsibility for the projects cash position post practical completion.
• When not carried out by the project surveyor, complete CVC reports for projects within the MGD period and beyond, ensuring they accurately reflect the current position and the final profit projection.
• Achieve timely and equitable resolution of client and supply chain final accounts relating to works within the customer service team.
• Provide early warning of future financial problems and ensure accurate real time reporting.
• Control and minimise non recoverable costs within the MGD budget.
• Manage, train and develop junior surveying staff.
• When not carried out by the project surveyor, price and affectively agree project variations relating to work post practical completion.
• Creatively consider value engineering and improved build ability solutions relating to works post practical completion.
• Correctly identify and prepare contractual notices for all events and administering that main contract conditions accordingly.
• Accurately promote team work between all disciplines.
• Actively support business priorities and promote the company externally.

Essential and Desirable Criteria

You will have experience of:

* MS Excel.

* Successful procurement.

* Re-measurement of high risk packages and key trades.

* Working knowledge of relevant contract conditions.

* Financial / cost control leading or assisting on a relevant project.

* Controlling costs in accordance with budget.

* Efficient use of all resources.

* Reading and accurately interpreting drawings and specifications.

* Pricing and timely agreement of client and supply chain variations and value engineering.

* Demonstrating an effective system of managing priorities and one’s self.

* Good communication at all levels.

* Playing an active role which positively contributes to a team.

Qualifications and Memberships

Essential

* Good level of education to include 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above, A Levels.

Desirable

* Construction related degree.

Professional

Essential

* Appropriate CSCS card.

* Valid driving licence.

Desirable

* Membership or working towards MCIOB or RICS.
