A Financial Accountant is required to work for a listed FMCG business on a 12-month contract to cover maternity leave. The role will be working for a globally recognised brand and will be joining at a key time, following a major acquisition in 2020.
Working in the EMEA Head Office, you will be taking full ownership of the accounting for 3 international entities. In addition to this, you will be supporting with project work relating to the integration of the newly acquired entity. Responsibilities will include:
Management of internal and external reporting for international entities working in accordance with US GAAP
Assisting with the year-end process for the international entities including statutory accounting and liaising with 3rd party auditors
Finance projects including supporting with the set-up of a new international entity
Taking ownership for the balance sheet review and reconciliations
Partnering with several stakeholders within finance (including internationally), reviewing balance sheet and draft templates
Supporting with the supervision of one member of staff including reviewing month-end close including journals, accruals and prepayments
Management of VAT reporting as well as corporation tax for your entities
The successful candidate will be an ACA/ACCA qualified with experience auditing/working with a business with a turnover of £50 million-plus. Previous experience preparing or reviewing financial statements is essential, as is experience working under IFRS or US GAAP. Exposure to working with listed companies and consumer industry knowledge is advantageous. You must be proactive in nature and have the ability to work in a fast-paced, international environment. A 2nd European language is beneficial.
