About the role
Do you have experience working in a handyperson role and have basic knowledge of property maintenance?
If so, we have the perfect role for you!
We are currently recruiting for a Handyperson for our repairs and voids team on a permanent contract. Our role is covering 27 sheltered schemes where you will visit a scheme sometimes 2 daily on a monthly rota. Our schemes are predominantly in Brent with a few in Westminster. You will provide a responsive repairs and maintenance service for day to day repairs, you will be customer facing and have excellent communication skills ensuring you are able to ensure the maintenance service is delivered in response to the diverse needs of our residents.
You will respond to emergencies making sure properties are secure, addressing water leaks and addressing blockages and minor carpentry and facilities as well as replacement of shower controls and sanitary fittings.
You will carry out general property inspections and ensuring repairs and damages are addressed.
To be successful, you will have excellent communications skills both written and verbal and have worked in a similar capacity previously. You will have knowledge of Health and Safety issues as it relates to property maintenance and be able to carry out basic property repairs to a high standard.
You must have a clean driving license and access to a vehicle. This role will also require an enhanced DBS check.
