Tactiq is looking for a talented Lead Electronics Engineer to join its dynamic team to develop embedded electronics systems for the medical, automotive, defence and industrial sectors. This position offers an intermediate level engineer an excellent opportunity to grow module design, systems design and team leadership skills in a dynamic, supportive environment. There may be occasional travel overseas.
Roles and Responsibilities:
You will design, implement, test and debug electronics and/or embedded software for a range of applications including medical imaging, automotive and acoustic signal processing. When necessary you will lead a team responsible for the development of embedded systems from initial requirements, through design, implementation and test. You will work with leading edge technology alongside highly skilled engineers and program managers, all with proven track records of executing demanding projects. The role will include:
• Leading system design
• Design and implementation of digital and analogue electronics
• Support of PCB layout and routing
• Creating requirements, design and test documents
• Leading a project team
• Project planning and status review
• Execution to an agreed project plan
• Liaising with the client and the client’s team
• Design and implementation of embedded software in C and potentially other languages
• Test and debug of prototype systems using a variety of commercial and in-house tools and equipment
• Use of version control systems
• Potential travel to client’s premises for meetings, integration testing and support
Professional/Educational Requirements
• Qualified to BSc and desirably an MSc in Electronics, Computer Science, Physics or Mathematics.
• Minimum of three years design, debugging and development of electronics for embedded or DSP systems
• Development of real-time software in C or equivalent
• Familiarity with embedded and real-time software debugging techniques
• Experienced in leading a project team
Desirable: •Experience in mixed signal design
• Experience in DSP or signal processing
• Design of switch-mode PSUs
• Experience in circuit simulation
• Task estimation and project planning
• Full product development life-cycle experience
• Development using other languages e.g. VHDL, Verilog, JAVA, C#, C++, Python, Perl, C-Shell, Bash scripts
• Modelling and simulation using Matlab and Simulink tools
• Familiarity with embedded coding standards and methodologies
• Application of UML and use of object oriented design tools
