Galileo Watermark, an established award-winning SME operating within the airline sector in the UK and with international offices, seeks an astute, energetic, enthusiastic and self-motivated management accountant to work closely alongside the Finance Director.
This role would suit an all-rounder aspiring to become a future financial controller with experience in running the routine daily financial transactions of an SME and the ability to cover all aspects of the finance function in the UK and internationally, assisting in the provision of financial information to aid the managerial planning and commercial decision making of the senior leadership team.
The Management Accountant role will include (but is not limited to):
Month end closing preparation and assisting in management accounts
Preparation of monthly board packs and year end statutory accounts
Full sales, purchase and credit control functions
VAT and other periodic statutory returns as required
Other ad-hoc administration and office duties
Supervision of future finance hires
GW is a global business, and the successful candidate will be exposed to and work in multiple currencies. Flexibility is needed in communicating across several time zones and cultures, and good communication skills are essential.
Management Accountant Requirements:
ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified or part qualified depending on experience
A good team player, able and willing to go the extra mile as part of the finance function within a small, innovative company, treating the routine tasks as effectively as the more advanced work
Strong numerical and analytical skills
Good written and verbal communication skills
A fast learner, demonstrating good attention to detail and the ability to take on a variety of tasks
Able to work independently and efficiently. and demonstrate a proactive and sound commercial approach
Strong IT skills (particularly MS Excel, Powerpoint, Word) and proficiency in various accounting software
Systems implementation experience preferable – a new finance system is being adopted later this year
Experience in staff management as the finance team expands
Experience in foreign currency transactions and working with a variety of overseas companies
The team is all currently working from home but searching for a suitable office space in the West London area from September.
The successful candidate should be able to start immediately or after a short notice period.
There’ll be a two-step interview process, firstly through video then the second stage in person.
