My client are a global media company and are looking for a finalist level Management Accountant to join their team on a 10 month contract.
This role is a 10 month fixed term contract to cover a maternity leave within the finance team. The client are looking for someone to be able to start at the beginning of March. The role is a Management Accountant position ideally suited to an ACCA/CIMA finalist. The role is likely to involve a mixture of home and office-based working.
The Management Accountant is responsible for the accurate and timely production, analysis and communication of all management information and compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards.
The company are an international provider of market intelligence and consultancy for the legal and marketing professions. The company is listed on the London Stock Exchange and has offices in London and New York. This role will be based in the head office near Waterloo, London. You will report to the Head of Management Accounts.
Complete monthly management accounts according to an agreed timetable for your own portfolio of clients (within 7 working days of month end)
Assist with changes to reporting and CRM systems
Ensure accuracy of reported financial and KPI information (actuals, prior year, budget, forecast etc)
Review variances against budget and forecast
Review balance sheet control schedules, particularly accruals, prepayments, WIP and bad debt provisions
Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts
Ensure all balance sheet accounts are fully reconciled monthly and comply with IFRS
Ensure profit and loss information is complete and accurate
Sign off schedules confirming each P&L and working capital balance sheet
Assisting with interim and year-end audit queries
Other ad-hoc duties (fixed asset accounting, production of US accounts etc)
Part-qualified ACCA/CIMA or equivalent (finalists would be preferred)
Previous experience completing a full set of management accounts
Familiarity with Agresso (ideally)
Knowledge of IFRS/listed company reporting requirements
Strong Excel skills
Understanding of UK and US tax
