The role’s mandate encompasses all activities that support Crisis Management (CM), Business Continuity (BC), Technology Disaster Recovery (DR) exercises. Key functions of the role include; the planning and development of exercise scenarios to test and evaluate the preparedness / adequacy of existing controls and plans, coordinating test and exercise activity globally, and the review and analysis leading to further enhancements.The position reports to the Senior Manager, Business Continuity Management and works closely with senior leaders, technology, business areas and core services groups.Responsibilities IncludeUsing a risk-based approach, develops a test and exercise program to ensure that CPPIB is prepared to respond to any number of dynamic risks across our geographies.Develops test and exercise scenarios across our 9 global offices. Exercises may be significant in scale including annual exercises involving the entire Senior Management Team or regional, focusing on an individual office. Leverages internal expertise, and where relevant, coordinates with external partners.Leads the coordination and execution of exercises.Develop clear metrics for the evaluation of exercises, methodologies for capturing the metrics and standardized reporting, and leveraging the data to inform improvements.Support the Enterprise Resilience team as needed during crises.QualificationsBachelor’s degreeCBCP or MBCI industry certification or equivalent is valuedRelevant experience in operations, risk management or training (experience in investment management, pension fund or financial services industry, and exposure to enterprise and/or operational risk management is preferred)Specific experience in running large organizational exercises and table-tops.Strong operational risk background with diverse interestsFamiliarity with technology with a focus on systems recovery and change management processesAdvanced MS Office and Tableau skills highly valuedOutstanding writing ability and analytical skillsStrong problem solving mindsetSolid communication and interpersonal skillsProven ability to proactively build and foster professional relationshipsEnjoys working in a high demand environment, is flexible and constantly strives to innovateStrong organizational and project management skills with exceptional attention to detailAble to support 24/7 on-call responseProven ability to work independently as well as to perform effectively in a team oriented environmentExemplifies our Guiding Principles of integrity, partnership and high performanceAdditional InformationVisit our Linkedin Career Page or Follow us on Linkedin.
