Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner duties extend the services of the Russell Medical Center hospitalist by providing comprehensive health assessments, performing history and physicals,  completing daily rounding notes, determining diagnosis, planning and prescribing treatments and managing health care regimen, adhering to a quality measures plan, prescribing medications, medication reconciliation, coordinating post discharge care,  completing discharge summaries in collaboration with the designated physicians(s).  This role includes the promotion of wellness, prevention of complications and management of acute and chronic conditions.  The Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner will work with supervision from the attending hospitalist physician in accordance with the current rules and regulations and bylaws that govern the medical staff and nurse practitioners, as well as in collaboration with a variety of individuals to deliver high quality care.
