This role can be based at any one of our offices in London, Northampton or Selby but will require travel to all sites.
You’ll provide consultancy and thought leadership to stakeholders in relation to relevant energy policy, law, regulation, and the regulated industry landscape, by providing pragmatic and commercial advice on options available to the business, taking into consideration risk appetite and strategic goals.
Proactively identify and review proposed regulatory and legislative changes, assess potential impacts (through collaboration with business units) and options/recommendations to mitigate risk and realise value. You’ll also support business development and strategic activities by advising on new market opportunities.
You’ll manage the development of Group positions and take a lead role in developing responses to industry consultations and influence regulatory decision-making via regulatory, industry code and industry association workgroups.
Ideally, you’ll be educated to degree level with in-depth experience of energy market arrangements and dynamics, ideally spanning industry codes, licensing, network access and charging regimes (across transmission and distribution), and with a particular focus on the wholesale and balancing markets, and flexibility/ancillary services.
You’ll have proven communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders and will have strong interpersonal skills. Someone who is analytically focussed would be beneficial.
