Senior Director of Global Payments – Market Planning – Accuity – London, Bishopsgate

Position Summary: The senior Director of Global Payments, Market Planning, reports to the Managing Director of Global FCC and Payments and is the responsible executive for leading the strategy, commercial planning, innovation and GTM activities for a large $50M + portfolio of Payment efficiency solutions marketed to Banks, NBFIs, Global Multinational Corporations and Alternative Payment Fintech Providers. The SDGP has the key strategic responsibility to define the strategy, goals and objectives for the payments market area and facilitate action in the accomplishment of those goals. The role will be tasked to expand our leading solutions beyond our core banking market by further penetrating into other attractive verticals including, multi-national corporate, non-bank finical institutions (NBFI), and alternative payment providers. The SDGP will lead the market planning function, and work closely with product, sales and marketing leads to define and agree the go to market strategy.

As part of overall effective management of the Payments portfolio, the position will help define and lead efforts with key strategic partners and various strategic third-party technology enablers and core banking system alliances relationships.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute market planning strategy for the specific market area.
• Facilitate action to accomplish market strategy by working within a cross functional team (finance, product development, editorial, marketing, sales, professional services and pre-sales) to execute go to market strategies in the specific market area.
• Direct the development of, and participate in reviewing and approving the short and long range operating objectives and plans, developing and integrating the individual market area plans and strategies into an overall market area plan to achieve maximum revenue growth in support of the corporate strategy.
• Accountable for revenue objectives in the specific market area.
• Ensures the proper execution of strategic market area plan
• Responsible for ensuring through the market area strategy, the appropriate product portfolio mix and appropriate positioning. Develop recommendations for new product concepts and existing product modifications in line with the market area strategy and overall market area strategy.
• Review and evaluate the market area performance on a continuing basis and establishes the proper measures of performance; provides direction for modification in work plans or implementation of contingency plans in accordance with prevailing business conditions.
• Direct the analysis for specific near term market opportunities of major importance and the development of business cases, pricing, negotiation and contract strategies to ensure an adequate level of customer satisfaction. Identify timely and appropriate business plans to support the strategic goals of the market area. Work with cross functional team on the development of the business case.
• Develop and recommend sales channel strategy utilizing market research and data.
• Support relationships with key accounts, industry and trade associations, government representatives, public service organizations, customers and vendors as necessary in the overall management of the market area.
• Establishes and maintains appropriate communications within and between various functional areas within the market area of responsibility.
• Initiates and develops pricing strategies and policies; recommend pricing actions and promotional programs in support of market area strategy and revenue plan.
• Review the activities within the market area for strengths and weaknesses and take corrective action when necessary.
• Act as the primary thought leader for LNRS Payments Efficiency portfolio and the global payments industry in general, through development and participation in white papers, media interviews, industry events and customer advisory boards.
• Working closely with our global sales and marketing management functions, ensure that our global Sales, Marketing and Professional Services and Support resources are well educated and trained on all aspects of positioning and selling our existing, enhanced and new Payment efficiency solutions.
• Determine opportunities to cross-fertilize and leverage our capabilities across LNRS’s Payments and Fraud and Identity portfolios by driving innovative synergies to meet emerging customer and market needs.

Experience / Skills:

• Requires a BS or equivalent educational achievement.
• Considerable experience and subject matter expertise in aspects of the global payments industry, international treasury management, clearing settlement mechanisms and correspondent banking.
• A strong understanding and experience of working and engaging with the international banking industry, bank-related domestic and cross-border payments systems and correspondent banking functions.
• Experience of managing teams and functions.
• Experience of managing customer insight and innovation processes.
• Strong people management and development skills.
• Ability to work effectively across multiple functional areas and drive internal consensus for strategic direction
• Solid business sense and financial modelling capability
• Strong strategic awareness and gravitas in dealing across both internal functions and customer-related senior-level functions.
• Seasoned experience in working in a multi-cultural and international environment
• Skills required include business acumen, strategic planning, organizational assessment, creativity, highly developed leadership and interpersonal skills, quantitative analytical abilities and outstanding communication skills.
