More about the role:

• You’ll be joining the Future Transformation programme in the Sainsbury’s Tech organisation. We’re on a journey to re-architect our retail business capabilities and underlying technology, simplifying how we work and modernising our Tech.
• We know that transforming the core of our retail business is no small undertaking and the Technology Assurance Lead will be responsible for shaping a technology assurance strategy and framework for the programme, providing an impartial perspective directly to the programme leadership.
• This is a totally hands-on role. You will partner with the Programme Transformation Assurance Lead who is responsible for the definition of the overall scope and delivery of the assurance review framework, to ensure the technology assurance strategy is aligned to the wider assurance framework. You will work directly for the Chief Technology Officer and partner very closely with the Business Owner for the Future Transformation programme, as well as other Steering Committee members.
• You will define, shape and own the technology assurance plan, including prioritisation/frequency of milestone and deep-dive reviews and areas of focus for continuous assurance.

What we’re looking for:

• A highly credible person who will collaborate and influence brilliantly up, down and across Sainsbury’s Tech and with the wider business, including up to Operating Board level
• A strong background in scaled technology programmes, either in a senior delivery role and/or with a strong background in assurance or audit roles
• You will have experience working in a world of agile and iterative development at scale, as well as deployment of SaaS software and end-to-end data flows, from generation to consumption.
• You have a deep understanding of modern engineering practices and the application of technical assurance and standards in agile methodologies throughout the software delivery lifecycle
• You have a passion for technology change and experience working in matrix delivery models with indirect management of colleagues
• You’re a strategic thinker, able to define and embed a technology assurance strategy and framework, with strong stakeholder buy-in
• You excel in ‘walking the tightrope’ between the requirement to provide impartial assurance and the need to sustain relationships
• You role model inclusive leadership every day, supporting all colleagues to be themselves and fulfil their potential
• A curious mind, you scan the external environment to bring fresh and innovative perspectives in support of the assurance strategy
