Job Title: Urgent Care Centre – Senior Staff NurseSalary: £36,076 DOEHours: Full-timeLocation: 60 Grove End Road, St John’s Wood, London NW8 9NH Casualty First is a private, self pay clinic, which uniquely treats adults and children from age one for all minor injuries, illnesses and accidents. We are looking for an ambitious and committed Charge Nurse to join our experienced and dedicated team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced A&E or UCC Nurse to build their career in this exceptional charitable private setting. The Senior Staff Nurse will provide clinical leadership to a designated nursing team and ensure the provision of high quality nursing care. You will act as a role model and expert clinical practitioner and assist in the safe, effective and efficient management of the department within allocated resources. The successful candidate will To undertake delegated responsibility for the department in the absence of the Manager. What would be my responsibilities as Senior Staff Nurse in the Urgent Care Centre:To have knowledge of and adhere to UCC and Hospital policy and professional standards. To ensure that team members do likewise.To demonstrate a professional approach to work, and act in accordance with the Hospital Code of Conduct and the NMC Code of Professional Conduct at all times.To participate in staff appraisal, staff development and in service training activities.To identify own learning needs and ensure own professional development is maintained by keeping up to date with practice developments.To ensure the provision of excellent, evidence based nursing care for patients.Ensure that each patient is assessed, and that their care is planned, implemented and evaluated, and that this is accurately documented.Ensure the provision of a welcoming, caring and safe environment for patients and their families.To communicate complex and sensitive information effectively to patients, carers and other staff, overcoming any barriers to understanding and providing support during distressing or emotional events..Ensure the provision of appropriate supervision and support to members of the team.Participate in the process of recruitment and retention of staff.To contribute to the appraisal process, and if required disciplinary activities.Deputise for the UCC manager in their absence or when requested.To actively assist in the practical training of learners, junior staff at every opportunity, through formal and informal teaching.To initiate and participate in audit relating to nursing and multidisciplinary care.
