In London, we act for most of the world’s largest insurance and reinsurance companies and Lloyd’s Syndicates across a range of insurance and reinsurance matters, advising on coverage, acting as monitoring counsel and in defending insureds.
We are seeking an experienced insurance lawyer who able to work to a high standard and accept a high degree of responsibility.
We represent clients in high-value disputes (many of them cross-border in nature) and have substantial experience in managing and resolving disputes, whether through the conduct of litigation or arbitration proceedings, or through alternative techniques such as mediation, adjudication and expert determination. Examples of the areas we advise in are:
Directors and Officers
Professional indemnity (in particular, solicitors)
Warranty and Indemnity
Trade credit and political risk
Skills and Experience Required
The ideal candidate will have:
Qualified as a solicitor in England & Wales (although candidates with experience in certain other jurisdictions will also be considered)
Trained at a top tier UK or US firm
Excellent academic record
Proactive and self-starting individual
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong commercial awareness
A flexible approach to work and be open to working in a multi-disciplinary team
Client facing experience is preferable
