Our client is a market leader delivering RWE and Health Economics projects partnering with house hold names in the pharmaceutical and life sciences sector. They utilize research and technology to support clients on a variety of research projects and studies for market access purposes.
The Research Scientist (Biostatistician) will lead work alongside the delivery team (Epidemiologists, Analysts, Modelers, Developers) by supporting and ensuring the successful completion of analytical, building, testing and deployment of research projects, healthcare-related software and other products and services for the improvement of healthcare and access to medicines.
Design and implement studies on healthcare data e.g. Hospital Episode Statistics (HES), Clinical Practice Research Datalink data (CPRD) including study methodology, statistical methods, visualizations and machine learning techniques
Develop of detailed data analysis plans for assigned projects
Contribute to scoping research projects, including specifications and other research statistical requirements, document for the Delivery Team with clear deliverables
Communicate key insights and findings to the delivery team and to clients via reports and designing output documents.
Support the delivery team for clarification and refinement of project specifications
Programming study methodology into interfaces including R, SQL, Python
Evaluation of risks and prediction of potential problems in research projects, complying with quality assurance practices and assessments, including reporting on common sources of technical issues or questions
Supporting the development and conceptualization of research methodologies, data sources, research output for the current and targeted clients.
Knowledge of statistical methodology and study design
Healthcare Data Analysis (desirable)
Using administrative healthcare datasets in the UK or internationally
Knowledge and experience of writing research protocols, statistical analysis plans and research study reports.
Knowledge and experience conducting epidemiological or other statistical studies
Data management, data analysis and presentation, using healthcare databases and statistical analysis software packages (e.g. Microsoft excel, SQL, python and R)
Training in Epidemiology/Medical Statistics/Public Health/Biostatistics
Ideally degree level education
