SSE Enterprise Contracting is one of the UK’s largest Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) contractors with a product/service portfolio ranging from M&E LV, HV, Instrumentation, Street Lighting, Facilities Management through to Combined Heat and Power solutions.
What is the Role?
Our HV Projects business based from Slough is currently looking to recruit an experienced High Voltage Contracts Manager to lead a designated team following its successful award onto a DNO New Connections (infrastructure) Framework Agreement. We need a driven individual to lead, establish and mobilise a specific team designated to this Framework ensuring the continued growth and expansion in the High Voltage field of our business.
You’ll be involved in the Contract and Project Management of multiple new connection infrastructure projects. You’ll be responsible for the leadership and ownership of HV projects including the delivery of tender activity, pre-design and safety management.
Additional responsibilities will include recruitment, managing internal and contractor resource, financial reporting, process management and escalation management to appropriate standard
What do I need?
To be successful in this role, you’ll have significant experience of managing a portfolio of projects ranging from £100k to £1m in an electrical contracting or distribution environment. You’ll ideally have an HNC qualification or equivalent in an electrical discipline, although this is not essential if relevant experience can be demonstrated.
We would also be looking for you to have; a working knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015, experience and knowledge of management of NEC3 Contracts, an understanding of technical drawings and knowledge of general office applications, inclusive of MS Project and Prima Vera P6. SMSTS or equivalent is desirable but not essential as training can be undertaken.
You’ll also have excellent project management and communication skills. In addition, you’ll be able to develop client, customer and stakeholder relationships and to work in a team environment. You’ll have experience of managing operational teams, achieving and setting targets, and be able to apply financial and budgetary controls to ensure profitable business returns.
Experience in High Voltage Electrical Distribution Networks ranging from 11kV up to 132kV with an appreciation of the associated civil and construction works would be advantageous.
A full UK driving license is vital for this role as well as a passion for safety and the ability to work within a team as well as independently.
