Team Description: (Overview of the team)
The EMEA Legal Department provides legal support and assistance to BNY Mellon’s business and operations throughout EMEA. Whilst the largest concentration of lawyers are based in BNY Mellon’s EMEA headquarters in London, there are also legal staff in Brussels, Frankfurt, Luxembourg, Dublin, Wroclaw and Amsterdam.
The EMEA Employment Law team supports all lines of business and business partners in the EMEA region in relation to employment, labour and immigration issues in partnership with BNY Mellon’s HR team and with other members of the Legal Department. The EMEA Enforcement & Investigations team is responsible for handling complex and high profile EMEA-related governmental and regulatory enforcement inquiries , conducting internal investigations and providing advice regarding, and developing strategies for dealing with, issues that involve potential reputational, regulatory and/or financial exposure to BNY Mellon.
Job Purpose: (What the job role involves)
Your role will be to act as a lawyer responsible for the management of all eDiscovery activities across the EMEA Employment, Enforcement & Investigations and Litigation teams, including, but not limited to individual data subject access requests, working closely with the Global Privacy Office and relevant vendors. In addition, you will be responsible for delivering effective Legal support to EMEA business lines and business partners on employment, labour and immigration issues and Enforcement & Investigation issues. You will report into the Head of the Employment Law, EMEA, Senior Managing Counsel, and to the Head of Enforcement & Investigations, EMEA, Senior Managing Counsel.
You will coordinate work with other lawyers in the EMEA Legal department, including business line and jurisdictional specific lawyers, and with Employment, Enforcement & Investigation lawyers globally to deliver high standard of legal advice that is tailored to BNYM’s business models.
