Are you someone who is passionate about taking a person-centred approach to supporting vulnerable groups into employment? If the answer is yes, then please read on.
As a result of funding from one of our external corporate partners, we have created the new and exciting job role of Employment Engagement Worker and the opportunity for someone to join our dedicated central Employability team.
SHP (Single Homeless Project) is one of London’s leading homelessness prevention charities and a dynamic and growing organisation changing 8,000 lives every year across London – from supporting people in crisis, to helping them take the final steps towards independence and employment
As the Employment Engagement worker, your key focus will be on engaging with potential employers on our clients’ behalf. Working closely with the team’s Senior ETE Coordinator and the Head of Employment Initiatives, you will also be responsible for talking and liaising with a range of businesses about the benefits of employing our clients. You will therefore need to be a brilliant communicator with the ability to build good rapport with people.
To be successful, you will need to be:
Confident and pro-active in approaching external stakeholders and organisations
Able to speak positively and passionately about SHP’s clients and their strengths, as well as effectively challenge stereotypes
Resilient and able to stay focused and positive against any potential challenges involved in employer engagement
Solution-focused and able to work collaboratively with different people to find a positive outcome
Experience of delivering programmes/projects supporting people into sustained employment.
If you think this is the job for you, we would love to hear from you. *Please note, we would also consider applicants seeking part time employment.
This post will require an Enhanced DBS check to be processed for the successful applicant.
