External Communications Manager opportunity within the Public Sector working across multiple channels.
Your new organisation This independent, free and impartial public sector organisation who handle complaints and resolve issues are looking to appoint an External Communications Manager to join their team on a permanent basis, This is a fantastic opportunity to join either the Manchester or London office in a managerial capacity leading on key strategic priorities for the organisation.
Your new role In this role you will lead and implement communication projects to ensure the organisation meet their key strategic aims. Over 2022 the organisation are keen to raise awareness of the work they do so as the external comms manager you will work closely with the press to share insights from the organisations casework across both live media, printed press and social media. You will be hands on in the production of content which will include media releases, board papers, editorial leaflets and social content.
You will liaise with senior stakeholders to provide sound crisis and management advice – coordinating and relevant media coverage. This role can be based in either their Manchester or London office.
What you’ll need to succeed The organisation are seeking an experience external communications professional who has gained exposure to dealing with the press \/ media and managing those relationships on behalf of the organisation. You must have strong interpersonal skills, a keen understanding and interest in public affairs policy and experience of dealing with multiple senior stakeholders to coordinate press \/ media appearances and campaigns. You must be able to commute to either the Manchester or London office as your base office for half of the week.
