Butler rose are partnered with a fast-paced, PE backed Group of Advisory firms who have aggressive growth plans due to extensive funding received. They now have a newly created position for a hands-on Group Accountant to focus on the high amount of upcoming acquisitions.

My client is ideally looking for someone to be Manchester based however they will consider London candidates. The current team have all recently joined the business, so this is a great opportunity to really shape the future of this company and go on a huge & exciting expansion journey with them. They are a large organisation yet they have still retained the feel of an SME.

Your new role as Group Accountant:

Your duties will include:

Consolidations

Accounting for a high volume of acquisitions

Running month end consolidation process

Preparing for Group Year End Audit and acting as one of the main points of contact for Auditors / Advisors.

Preparation of Consolidated Statutory Accounts

Preparation of Monthly Management Accounts

Preparation of technical working papers

Regular interaction with a large range of internal and external Stakeholders including Financial Controllers & Directors

Regular team meetings and communication with other team members

Rolling out & developing Group Accounting policies to member firms. Assist firms in the Group to implement these and monitor compliance with new accounting policies and procedures.

Assisting in managing Group Balance Sheet

The Experience & Qualifications Required:

The successful Candidate shall be/have:

Qualified Accountant, preferably ACA but also open to ACCA & CIMA

Consolidation experience, particularly a full understanding of the process around integration of new acquisitions into the Group & amending the Consolidation process accordingly

Comfortable with picking up a wide variety of new systems easily

Acquisitions Accounting experience & understanding of the impact on the consolidation

Strong Technical Accounting skills including Statutory Accounting

Up to date knowledge of accounting standards such as IFRS & UK GAAP

A mixed Practice & Industry background would be ideal however my Client will consider Managers from Big 4 / Top 10 Accounting firms who are looking to make their first move into Industry

Xero & Board Consolidation software experience would be a big advantage but not essential

Assertive personality. Confident at liaising with Senior people and standing your ground when required.

Some proficiency with PowerPoint & Excel would be useful
