Our client is a specialist temporary employment agency covering the whole of Greater London, supplying nurses, care assistants, support workers and more to care home, hospitals and other establishments.
We are looking for motivated staff to work in various setting such as care homes, nursing homes, hospitals or other healthcare establishments.
You will assist the service users and other personnel of these establishments with a variety of duties, and in doing so you will observe and respect the service user’s dignity, privacy and independence as far as is practical.
Main duties and responsibilities can include some but not all of the following duties:
Supporting the registered nurse in implementation of an agreed plan of care with the patient and in accordance with instructions and training received
Contributing to a team approach to patient care in conjunction with all members of the multidisciplinary team and Nursing Residential environment
Contributing to the legality and accuracy of the patients care plan and or other reports and the effectiveness of the established communication/reporting system over the full 24hrs
Assisting the patient to ensure they have the opportunity to meet their individual dietary requirements.
Ensuring all patients receive their chosen and correct meals
To escort stable patients to and from all home to departments within the hospital
To provide personal and practical care services for people with a wide range of illnesses and disabilities
To assist service users with getting up in the morning, dressing, undressing, washing, bathing and the toilet where necessary
To help service users with mobility problems and other physical disabilities, including incontinence and help in use- and care of aids and personal equipment
To help care for service users who are dying
To help in the promotion of mental and physical activity of service users through talking to them, taking them out, sharing with them in activities such as reading, writing, hobbies and recreation;
To read and write in log-book records and take part in staff and service users’ meetings and in training activities as directed
The Ideal Candidate:
Have 3 to 6 months previous health care experience
Be committed and dedicated to the role
Flexible to work different shifts
Satisfactory Disclosure completion upon successful application
Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Eligible to work in the UK
