intains an orderly and businesslike environment at the unit station in order to assist members of the health care team.
Handles unit communications, functioning as a receptionist, greeting patients and families, handling telephone communications.
Communicates with various health care team members to facilitate the exchange of information needed to secure patient services or plan for patient care, such as hospital-to-hospital transfers.
Assists nursing staff with ED charts including transfer paperwork.
Schedules tests, procedures, and follow-up appointments as ordered.
May assist patients with food selection and ordering; delivers lab tests to the hospital lab.
Assists in monitoring patients, as needed.
During times of low workload will assist the Nursing Assistants with cleaning of equipment and ED rooms.
High-school diploma or equivalent
Medical terminology preferred
Strong organization skills, prioritization and a professional demeanor
Day Shifts: 8:00am to 4:30pm with
Every other weekend rotation
