EDF, one of the country’s largest energy companies and the largest producer of low-carbon electricity, is looking for a detailed focused individual with a passion for numbers to join their Corporate Finance team as an Indirect Tax Analyst.
The primary purpose of this role is the accurate and timely preparation of indirect tax returns and the submission of these to the UK tax authorities – HM Revenue & Customs (“HMRC”). This involves running and validating reports, collating information, liaising with various parts of the business and ensuring that any queries are resolved prior to the submission of the returns to HMRC. The role also involves dealing with ad hoc HMRC queries as well as supporting internal and external audit activity. In addition, the role will provide support on indirect tax technical queries from the business and project work.

Interactions will include obtaining information, responding to queries and providing assistance with audit activity.
The role requires an understanding of how indirect taxes operate the legislation, case law and HM Revenue & Customs Guidance. The taxes reported on include VAT, Climate Change Levy, Landfill Tax, Customs Duties, Intrastat, EC Sales Lists and Excise Duties.
