We have an exciting opportunity for an IT superstar to join our fast-paced, vibrant, and dynamic team to help innovate and strengthen our cyber security and software systems. Your role will be crucial in defending Tropic’s IT infrastructure against malicious actors, screening the company’s critical IT infrastructure for weaknesses, creating robust countermeasures to prevent future incidents as well as training employees on security best practices and advice management on investments to safeguard Tropic’s computer and network systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Day to day monitoring of systems for any irregular behaviour.
Triage and manage security related events and Incidents.
Update support/ticketing systems to ensure all issues have been logged and resolved whilst capturing all the required information.
Work within SLA targets for Incidents, requests, and changes.
Follow support workflows, processes, and policies.
Produce cyber security reports and analytics for management (EndPoint/AV/Intrusion Detection/Vulnerability/Patching/Email Phishing).
Respond to and resolve end-user security related issues.
Work with other IT Teams to configure, troubleshoot and maintain security infrastructure, software, and hardware, and to ensure best practises are followed.
Assist with firmware upgrades, configuration changes and hardware/software upgrades and migrations.
Identify, define, and document system security requirements and recommend solutions to management.
Work with management to plan, develop, implement, and update company’s cyber security and resiliency strategy.
Proactively research and monitor for threats and help minimise the business’s exposure and reduce the attack surface area.
Act as an escalation point for the Support Team and help resolve other IT support related issues.
Work with 3rd party service providers to ensure necessary security controls and processes are in place and that best practice is being followed.
Assist in penetration testing, vulnerability scanning and audits.
Educate and train end-users on security and information system best practices.
Work with the IT Team and management to support wider IT related activities and projects across the business.
Work with IT management to ensure all technical issues are addressed and that both training and documentation requirements are identified and implemented.
ABOUT YOU
Proven experience working in a cyber security or systems security-based role ( minimum of 3 years), preferably with a background in eCommerce and retail.
Degree educated in Computer Science or a similar subject.
Hold a valid and recognised qualification: CEH, CompTIA Security +, CISSP or similar.
In-depth knowledge of security protocols and principles.
Extensive knowledge of server and client operating systems.
In-depth knowledge of web technologies.
Extensive knowledge of networking concepts and technologies including security and monitoring tools.
Knowledge of cloud concepts and platforms (AWS, Azure).
Proven experience in designing, developing, and maintaining security systems.
Extensive knowledge of security systems and features including firewalls, anti-virus applications, intrusion prevention systems, data loss prevention
SIEM tools.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Excellent incident and problem management skills.
ADDITIONAL
Full time role: 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday
Hybrid working with 2/3 days a week in the office is standard
Office is conveniently located just 3 minutes’ walk from Beddington Lane Tram stop, which is connected to East Croydon and Wimbledon – both 20 minutes away. Approx. 30 min travel time from South West London, 35 mins from South London (Brixton, Stockwell etc.)
Starting salary £45,000 – £50,000 per annum (subject to experience)
