Overlooking the iconic River Thames, Barking Riverside is founded on an ambitious vision for what good development can achieve. One of the most exciting new developments in Europe, the project will help transform a 443-acre former industrial site into a new London district everyone can be proud of. Co-created in close partnership with existing residents, the area is growing to become an exciting and vibrant neighbourhood of over 10,000 homes, commercial and leisure space, new schools and facilities, public open spaces, and riverside walks. Connectivity will be enhanced by a new London Overground station and an Uber Boat by Thames Clippers pier.
The project is being delivered by master developers Barking Riverside Limited (BRL), a joint venture between L&Q and the Mayor of London. BRL are partnering with local people, stakeholders, plot developers, and industry leading consultancies and experts to help create a place that is ‘Barking Made’, with pride and purpose for everyone.
We are looking for an executive with proven experience in marketing and communications as well as a passion for connecting with communities. Do you have a high level of attention to keep our communications platforms up to date?
Do you have experience in producing graphic assets using design editing software, and in growing social media profiles from scratch? Can you keep up with a high paced and demanding work environment, as projects ramp up quickly?
The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience in marketing and communications skills as well as an acumen to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, both corporate and in the wider community at Barking Riverside. The role requires knowledge of design software such as Photoshop, Content Management Systems such as Wordpress and social media native platforms.

Barking Riverside London is a joint venture between the Mayor of London and L&Q to deliver a quality led new riverfront town in East London comprising of 10,800 homes, a new rail station, new schools and commercial and cultural offerings along 2km of south-facing Thames river frontage. Barking Riverside London will feature healthcare, schools, open space, public squares, new rail and river connections into central London, up to 65,000 sq.m. of commercial floor space including shopping, community and leisure facilities.
Most excitingly, there is an ambition to connect a new generation of Londoners to the River Thames and to design and deliver facilities, services and projects on the river frontage to create a new night-time economy in this part of the borough.
As one of the largest developments in the UK, this ambitious project is gaining momentum with a programme committed to facilitating delivery of up to 600 new homes a year for the next 15 years.
As Master Developer Barking Riverside is responsible for taking forward and coordinating all aspects of the design and development process as well as implementing the infrastructure works to transform the former power station site into a high quality development and help build a thriving, healthy community.
