Prospero Teaching are looking for an individual who is able to inspire children with a love of Maths both as an academic subject and in the world around them.
We are seeking a Maths teacher with strong subject knowledge as well as passion, someone who is a tireless advocate for Maths, and who can work collaboratively with the Maths Department to innovate, to try new approaches and to always look to improve.
ABOUT THE SCHOOL:
This is a medium size, successful secondary school where both students are challenged by a rich and exciting curriculum, teachers enjoy teaching their subject and supporting students through personalised support. Facilities are great, the school have interactive whiteboards in all classrooms, state of the art ICT suits and a range of labs, workshops and large fields, student value and take pride in their school.
The Maths department cover a range of topics including Number, Algebra, Ratio Proportion and Rates of Change, Geometry and Measures, Probability and Statistics. Students are assessed regularly. The Maths department work towards developing students investigational skills as well as consolidate their number skills with the long term plan to teach the student in becoming fluent in the fundamentals of mathematics, and to be able to reason mathematically by being able to communicate an argument, justification or proof using mathematical language.
If you are a Maths teacher who can teach upto A level you would be timetabled to deliver Further Maths, level 3 Maths in Context and Core Maths following Pearson Edexcel. This is a popular and interesting course covering applications of statistics, Probability, Linear programming, Sequences and growth.
The Headteacher takes time to support the staff who he works with, when he joined this school he promised that staff wellbeing was one of the top priorities and has kept to his word and staff enjoy working at this school. As a new Math’s teacher you will have a 3 day induction covering safeguarding, our pastoral system, Behaviour for Learning, Teaching and Learning, as well as understanding the layout of the school and how to navigate our data/student information system. You will also spend a day observing effective teaching at the school to help you understand how we do things here.

Pay will be in line with your pay scale
Hours – 8:20 am – 3.30pm, plus parents evenings
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS OF A MATHS TEACHER:
BEd / PGCE / QTS or equivalent teaching degree
Minimum 1 year Maths teaching experience
Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last yearTO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS MATHS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
Hold Right to Work in the UK
Be able to work a full-time basis
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
