UCLA Health Responsibilities
Facilities mechanic will perform routine and semi-skilled tasks in the maintenance, alteration, and repair of buildings and related facilities equipment under general supervision. Incumbents may work independently, as part of a maintenance crew, or under the general direction of a journey level crafts worker.
communicating and obtaining clear and concise information
reading and writing standard English in order to understand written directions and convey concise and grammatically correct information
Basic knowledge and work experience with materials, equipment, and tools as it pertains to plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems, and/or carpentry work. Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office computer programs, Word and Outlook.
Willingness to work overtime as required and under adverse situations.
Experience working in a hospital environment is preferred but not required. Knowledge of The Joint Commission standards is preferred but not required. Knowledge of applicable State and local codes and standards, preferred but not required.
