Have you got fantastic writing skills and would love the challenge of working as part of a small, busy marketing team? We are looking for a new member of staff to help increase our membership by making more people aware of the charity and the audiobook service we provide.
Listening Books is an audiobook service for people whose illness, disability, learning or mental health condition impacts on their ability to read the printed word. We have over 9000 audiobooks in our postal and online library and serve some 100,000 members across the UK.
Salary: £26,000 PA (pro-rata) Location: Southwark, London, Greater London. We are currently working remotely, with the expectation we will return to the office later this year, or in early 2022. Job Type: Permanent, Part-Time for 21 hours per week (these can be worked in 3 full days or spread across the week in set core hours. We have a preference for the latter) Benefits: Matched contribution pension scheme up to a maximum of 8% of an employee’s (gross) salary, following successful probation period. We also offer an interest free travel loan for eligible employees and paid sight tests, plus 20 days annual leave, pro-rata.
The successful candidate will be working as part of the membership team, helping to promote the work of the charity and the Listening Books brand. They’ll be working on a range of marketing activity, with responsibility for the day to day maintenance of our social media accounts, posting content and answering messages, as well as contacting other charities, magazines and disability groups to request inclusion of information in articles, newsletters or on websites. The successful candidate will work closely with the membership team to deliver the goals set out in our PR and Marketing Strategy, as well as contributing ideas for increasing and retaining our membership numbers.
The successful candidate will be just as happy being creative as being analytical, with strong time management skills and a can-do attitude. This is a varied role, so strong organisational skills are a must, as well as the ability to work comfortably alone and as part of the team. The ability and willingness to learn ‘on-the-job’ would be beneficial.
