JOB SUMMARY
The Nurse Assistant provides care to patients under the supervision of the registered nurse/LPN.. This care focuses primarily on personal hygiene, nutritional needs and activities of daily living. The Rehab Assistant performs receptionists, housekeeping, and restocking duties and serves as communication liaison in the departments.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Completion of geriatric aid certification or currently enrolled in an A.D.N., BSN, program with successful completion of first semester of A.D.N. program, OR first year completion of nursing courses in BSN OR graduate of an A.D.N., Diploma, BSN or LPN program.
State of Iowa Nurse Aide registry listing as “Active” or eligible.
Experience: Nursing Assistant experience preferred. Special Skills and Competencies: Self-motivated, detail-orientated individual able to work with minimum supervision. Ability to work on multiple projects at one time and flexibility to meet department needs. Completes the following mandatory courses:
Must provide proof of Basic Life Support (BLS Healthcare Provider, American Heart Association; or American Red Cross, Professional Rescuer-LIVE class only) via current card prior to employment or within 60 days of hire and maintains current status. Completes Mandatory Reporting: Child and Dependent Adult Abuse requirement within 6 months of hire and renews this requirement every 5 years.
