Your new role A child has relocated from London with his family from London, not only is this a huge change for any child to deal with but this child ASD tendencies, struggle with Speech and Language and will require emotional support to help with the transition.
Due to the child having ASD tendencies they would ideal like the successful person to not only be able to speak Punjabi but also have experience of working what a child on a 1:1 basis with ASD and support a pupil with communication skills (Speech and Language) – they would like you to implement strategies to help with support the child and to follow instruction form the class Teacher and SENCo
As part of this role you will also be required to liaise with his parents who have limited English, the school feels/hopes that speaking to the child parents in their native language will help them understand their child needs and therefore can continue the support when at home.
This role is full time, Monday to Friday, starting in September – October half term in the first instance, if the child is responding well and integrating with other children then this position will be extended.
What you’ll need to succeed
Fluent in Panjabi (writing and speaking)
Experience of working with a child on 1:1 basis with ASD
Experience of supporting pupils with Speech and Language difficulties
Available to start work in September
