An Ofsted Good’ Mainstream Primary school located in South East London is seeking a SENCO on a long term, part time basis from September 2020.
The ideal SENCO will be qualified or be experienced, hold an academic teaching qualification with QTS and strong references.
The ideal SENCO will be managing STRONG team of an Assistant SENCO, HLTA’s, LSA’S and Teaching Assistants as well as being line managed by an Assistant Head.
The Schoool require a SENCO who can support and sustain effective SEN across the Primary School, teaching and evaluating the quality of teaching and standards of pupils’ achievement, and setting targets for improvement. The ideal SENCO will be someone who will engage with external agencies e.g. Ed Psych, Speech and Language service, Early Help; LEA, etc. and facilitate opportunities for external agencies to work with students and staff when appropriate. Coordinate and impellent andevaluate interventions.

Working within the statutory guidelines for SEN (the new and old Code of Practice and transitions between them Monitoring and assessing the progress of SEN students, including Annual Reviews and target setting You must be able to contribute to the development and implementation of a curriculum initiative that had a sustained and demonstrable impact on pupil progress. Delivering staff training and undertaking professional development of other teachers, in particular about Autism or SEN. A commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all pupils. The right SENCO specialist will be:
Qualified to at least degree level Qualified to work in the UK QTS or equivalent National SENCO Award PGDip Evidence of substantial and relevant CPD related to SEN
