My client is a well-run UK law firm with ambition. It has grown from a turnover of £4.3M in 2013 to £12M following a merger in London in 2018 creating a Top 200 law firm with improved access to London, international and regional markets. Further growth is planned. The firm is non-hierarchical, consultative and team-based, committed to serving its clients in a dedicated and responsive manner. The firm’s tagline is ‘Lawyers you will enjoy working with’. It is one they live up to. This resonates through both the ongoing positive reviews from the firm’s clients, and its approach to creating an environment in which its people will thrive. They have achieved ‘Star Status’ in the Best Companies’ survey regularly since 2012, which is a sure sign of high engagement levels for its people.
It is in this context of excellence and ambition that the firm is recruiting a technically-strong senior lawyer as a Partner to lead its multi-site £1.7M Private Client team.
This is a unique development role, offering the successful candidate the opportunity to lead and drive the progression and growth of the firm’s Private Client service. The successful candidate will take on several existing client relationships, along with the freedom to set the team’s strategy in accordance with the firm’s vision, creating high-value, new business opportunities for the team and, through referrals, to the wider firm. Contribution to wider firm strategy will be achieved through involvement in Partner strategy meetings.
The Private Client team handles a full range of private client work including Wills, powers of attorney, trust creation and administration, estate planning and administration, and Court of Protection matters. It has several STEP-qualified lawyers. The client base includes HNW and UHNW individuals, trustees, landowners and business owners who may have assets in the UK or abroad.
You will have strong technical expertise in Private Client matters and a passion for this area of work, with 12+ years’ PQE; * a passion for sharing your knowledge and experience for the benefit of others’ development within the Private Client team; * England & Wales qualified Solicitor ideally with STEP qualification; and * a following or strong network of clients and referrers – important not just for its value but also as evidence of technical know-how and client/referrer management skills.
The basic salary will be market rate depending on experience, with an attractive benefits package and the opportunity to join a highly regarded and well established, growing practice as Team Leader and Partner.
