The Program Manager will maintain primary accountability for the management and delivery of safe and effective patient/client care and for the day-to-day functions of the Assertive Community Treatment Program at the Brunswick Outpatient Clinic of Maine Behavioral Healthcare.
Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) is an intensive community based (outpatient) treatment program with a multi-disciplinary team of providers that supports eligible adults and children who may have a major mental illness diagnosis and often co-occurring disorders. The goal of the ACT Program is to improve the client’s functioning in the least restrictive setting, while strengthening family, work, school and community ties.
As the Program Manager, your responsibilities include:
Organizing and managing the delivery of services from all staff and ensure safe practices that meet quality of care standards
Oversee and evaluate clients referred for admissions, including the assessment of client’s physical, emotional, social and environmental background
Review and approve clinical documentation (treatment plans) and provide relevant feedback to staff for improvement when indicated
Maintain all program licensure/certifications according to established policies and institute corrective action when compliance problems arise
Assist staff with the provision of direct client service or case management activities
The Program Manager shares the leadership of the team and is responsible for the coordination of services, and is responsible for the management of team members, client/patient outcomes, design, delegation and supervision of workload, team building and for the appropriate utilization of human and fiscal resources. Also, ensure quality and compliance of clinical documentation, and program sustainability through effective service utilization and caseload management leading to the achievement of the overall financial goals.
Behavioral Health Homes are a MaineCare service designed to help patients manage their mental and physical health needs. This service is available through community mental health providers such as Maine Behavioral Healthcare.
Maine Behavioral Healthcare provides an array of services at our outpatient practices for adults, adolescents and children challenged with mental health, developmental disorders, co-occurring and/or substance use issues. Specifically, our Brunswick location provides these Adult Assertive Community Treatment (ACT), Case Management and Behavioral Health Homes, Counseling, and Psychiatry.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Education: Master’s degree in Social Work, psychology or related field is required.
License/Certifications: Maine State licensure to practice at the independent level of an LCSW, LCPC, CARN, RNCS or Ph.D. in mental health and substance abuse is preferred. An LMSW-CC or LCPC-CC is required.
Experience: 3+ years of relevant experience in community settings preferred. 3+ years of clinical supervisory and management experience preferred.
