About the role:
This role involves working to support the successful delivery of large government programmes for the Carbon Trust. The Programme Management Executive will play a crucial administrative role in helping to support project managers and the Project Management Office (PMO), to deliver high quality, on time and to budget projects. Although primarily an internal delivery support role, success will be evidenced by your ability to meet the needs of our demanding clients as well as internal corporate governance.
Activities may vary but will be mostly focussed upon project deliverables and finance reviewing, as well as forecasting and supporting the PMO to undertake periodic events, workshops etc, where you may be required to coordinate logistics and take minutes. As such, an attention to detail and an organised process-driven approach to work is required for the role.
There will be an expectation for an array of diverse supplier partners. As such a highly structured, meticulous and time focused attention to detail and quality is required.
The successful candidate will be a personable team player who has a strong sense for ensuring a high and consistent quality. They will also be comfortable approaching and speaking with a diverse community of colleagues and partners internationally by email, phone and face-to-face.

We work closely with decision makers and implementers in key institutions in the UK and across multiple emerging and developing countries on low-carbon finance, programmes, policy and technology.
Main duties and responsibilities:
• Undertaking cyclical finance processing and forecast alignments for a large portfolio of projects • Reviewing and processing deliverables against pre-agreed specifications (escalating where required)• Assisting project managers in the amendment of contracts and amendment letters• Engaging with back-office services including finance, resource management, IT and marcomms to ensure the programme is compliant with corporate requirements• Ad-hoc administrative assistance to other members of the Programme Management Office (PMO) such as helping in quality assurance or events• Coordinating and scheduling key project-specific meetings, webinars and events related to key programme delivery milestones• Actively supporting knowledge management activities
Key skills we are looking for:
• Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)• Excellent attention to detail• Some understanding of finance and finance management • Highly organised, and ability to manage own time• Ability to work effectively with colleagues in a team environment• Excellent written and oral communication skills• Strong programme management skills
Qualifications and experience:
• A preference for the candidate to have a degree (or equivalent) in a numerate discipline, this is not required• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills• Proficiency in Excel (essential) and knowledge of other office management systems and procedures (highly desirable)• Familiarity with other IT packages such as CRM, SharePoint and Unit 4 (desirable)• Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritise work • Excellent interpersonal skills• Proficiency in written and spoken English (essential) • A desire to be part of the growing momentum to help reduce the impacts of climate change on the planet
Salary & Benefits:
We offer a competitive salary and a performance-based bonus. Our hours are 37.5 per week with 28 days paid holiday plus bank holidays and a generous pension scheme.
