Job Title:St. Mary-on-the-Lake RN
Reports To:St. Mary-on-the-Lake Nurse Manager
General Purpose:Prescribes, coordinates, and evaluates the sisters’ care through collaborative efforts with nursing staff. The RN must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care, based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the sisters.
Department: SMOL Health and Wellness
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide bedside care.
Administer medications and document therapeutic effects.
Take vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration).
Assist with sisters’ comfort.
Prepare and administer pharmacy orders.
Collect samples and prepare lab paperwork.
Provide wound care.
Communicates with attending physicians as necessary.
Carries out the directives of the nurse manager, such as providing oversight for staff when nurse manager is not on shift.
Uses the computer for charting, email, and making medical documents in MS Office.
On call off hours and on weekends/holidays as scheduled.
Other Non-Essential Duties:
Accompany sisters to hospital until the sister on call for Hospital Presence can arrive.
