In this role, you will perform research projects (molecular, biochemical and cellular) related to understanding the molecular, immunologic and genetic events of pancreatic cancer formation and progression. Knowledge gained from this work is then used to design and test strategies for cancer treatment. Your responsibilities will include: preparation of data management forms per protocol, tissue culture work, preparation of RNA, DNA, protein and viruses, FACS analysis, PCR, Immunohistochemistry, equipment maintenance, and preparation of data and manuscripts for publicationQualifications
Working knowledge and experience in general immunology, cell biology and molecular biology techniques.
Knowledge of cell culture and sterile techniques.
Prior experience in oncology biomedical research.
Ability to use computer software for word processing, data tabulation and graphing.
Knowledge and ability to order supplies and maintain laboratory equipment.
Ability and knowledge to operate basic laboratory equipment, i.e. centrifuge, tissue culture hood and related equipment, autoclaving, weighing, pipetting microliter volumes etc.
Ability and working knowledge of DNA, RNA, protein purification and quantification; PCR, qPCR, Western Blot.
Ability to handle mice is preferred
Excellent communication skills to interact with other researchers, vendors, suppliers, and maintenance engineers.
Exceptional organizational and recordkeeping skills.
