JOB SUMMARY
The Team Lead/Consultant assists the Clinical Supervisor of Respiratory Care in supervising, planning, directing, and evaluating of respiratory care at Mercy Medical Center – North Iowa. Management responsibilities include: staff development and education, daily staff assignment of patient care, inventory control, continuous quality improvement, assisting with performance evaluations, and communications with other healthcare professionals and departments.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in chemical, physical or biological science required.
Minimum of 2 years laboratory training/experience in the designated specialty/ subspecialty of responsibility
Graduate of a respiratory therapy program is required.
Credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) required.
Current Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure in the state of Iowa required.
CAPRS and N95 fit testing validation within 30 days of hire is required.
Experience:
Must have demonstrated competence in an acute patient care setting for at least 6 months.

Able to work flexible hours.
Must provide proof of Basic Life Support (BLS Healthcare Provider, American Heart Association; or American Red Cross, Professional Rescuer-LIVE class only) via current card prior to employment or within 60 days of hire and maintains current status.
Completes Mandatory Reporting: Child and Dependent Adult Abuse requirement within 6 months of hire and renews this requirement every 5 years.
Completes Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – American Heart Association by October 31, 2019 and maintain current status.
Completes Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) – American Heart Association within 6 months of hire and maintains current status
