The SEN school is Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ and caters for children aged 3-19 years of age, is seeking the right candidate to work within their specialist SEN provision for Early Years and Primary learners with complex social communication disorders and/or ASD.

If you have not previously taught in a SEN school but are a mainstream teacher considering a career change, this school can offer the guidance and support that is needed throughout the transition.
This is a permanent, long-term role and will commence September 2020.
Every day will be unique and will bring about new challenges and opportunities for development. The school offers an extremely supportive working environment, in a new refurbished building. You will work with small class sizes and you will have the opportunity to work 1:1 with children.
The school supports learners with Autistic Spectrum (ASD), Profound Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD). The school premises are well situated for public transport and offers on-site parking.
* Experience teaching children with ASD, PMLD and SLD
* Ability to manage a small group of children with complex social communication needs
* Experience Teaching Early Years and Primary children
* Capable of preparing and teaching effective lessons, with consideration of the individual needs of the students
* Ability to promote positive behaviour
* Excellent command of English (verbal and written)
* Experience with Makaton and other visual and ACC (alternative and augmentative communication) systems will be advantageous
