The Supply Room are looking for candidates with experience or an interest in:
* Special Educational Needs (SEN)
* Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
* Language impairment, Visual impairment, and/or Hearing impairment
* Learning difficulties and/or Dyslexia
The Ofsted “Outstanding” Primary School are currently on the lookout for Teaching Assistants with a background and experience or an interest in working with children with Autism (ASC) or other complex needs in a resource base, and within a mainstream setting. You will support children’s learning needs, social inclusion and independence, and ensure that the individual needs of the children are met. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, self-motivated and respond well to the needs of the children.
You will work closely in a collaborative team led by the SENCO and receive a full induction and detailed training programme. They are an enthusiastic and friendly team that are part of an outstanding school with brilliant resources and equipment on offer. The position is suitable for candidates pursuing a career working with children and families, aspiring teachers or future school direct applicants.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of a C Grade in GCSE Maths and English. Although not required, it is beneficial to have experience of working with children with Autism or other related complex needs.
A qualification in working with children, especially those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities is desirable, but not essential. He/she will be eager to apply evidence-based practice approaches and support the school’s achievement of various national accreditation programmes. (Makaton and PECS)
