We are currently looking for a Senior Policy Manager to join our team in London for an 11 month contract and support the Fourth National Lottery Licence Competition.

Your role will help to ensure that the future National Lottery is fair, safe and continues to maximise returns to good causes, supporting the arts, heritage, sport and communities across the UK.
The Role
As a Senior Policy Manager, you will join the team designing and delivering the Fourth National Lottery Licence Competition.
Specifically, you will work across a number of different areas of the Competition, providing advice and informing key policy decisions and their implementation. Working with consultants, advisors and stakeholders, you will develop and articulate policy positions for the documents that form the basis of the Competition.
Your role will also involve:
- Protecting National Lottery player interests, the National Lottery brand, games and channels of sale
- Designing the Licence to operate the Fourth National Lottery and Licences for National Lottery games
- Developing associated Commission documents such as the Regulatory Handbook
- Capturing points of learning and policy intent for use in regulating the Licence and future competitions
- Reviewing, developing and implementing policy as it relates to the Gambling Act Review
- Ensuring that we are delivering on our strategic objectives
- Contributing to the identification and management of strategic risks and/or opportunities
About You
To be considered as a Senior Policy Manager, you will need:
- Expert policy manager experience including experience in shaping, leading and implementing policy
- Experience of managing significant policy workstreams within a complex programme of work
- Experience of working under pressure to produce high-quality deliverables to tight timescales while managing competing priorities
- Experience of building effective relationships and networks with relevant colleagues, advisors and external stakeholders
- Experience of challenging diverse and conflicting sources of evidence, and working with stakeholders and technical specialists to identify and test key considerations for proposed policy
- Experience of producing a variety of clear and concise documents, including policy positions, Board papers and public consultations, and presenting these to a range of internal and external audiences.
- The ability to negotiate, mainly internally and often at higher levels
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex policy analysis to wider non-policy audiences
A post-graduate degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline would be beneficial to your application. Experience in a regulated sector, working with a regulator or regulated company would also be an advantage, as would experience of working in an outcomes-focused environment.
