Our client operates in a complex regulatory framework. As they look to meet their licence obligations to reuse their infrastructure to drive down costs for its existing customers, the organisation will be increasingly affected by competition law and GDPR constraints. The renewal of the licence in 2025 will also be an opportunity for change and reform.
The Regulatory Design and Delivery Team leads for the business in developing, shaping and engaged with key stakeholders on the regulatory aspects associated with this focus on new permitted business activity.
We are looking for a new Senior Regulation Manager to lead for the team on this new work.
The Senior Regulation Manager will:
Lead on the development, planning and delivery of regulatory work-packages and products which feed into our Innovation and Re-use programme.
Represent the interests of the regulatory affairs function in programme forums and working groups, forming part of the virtual team delivering this work.
Engage with external stakeholders on Innovation and Growth agenda, with a focus on Government stakeholders (Ofgem and BEIS).
Support work on proposals for supporting the Electric Vehicle market, providing regulatory insight and leading on any regulatory work packages.
Supporting the development of new products and services that we develop, ensuring colleagues are aware of regulatory implications, risk and issues, and that where necessary liaising with Government as part of this development process.
Lead as required on other regulatory work packages being undertaken by the team as part of the core business.
Skills and Experiences Essential:
Strong self-leadership – able to set a clear forward work-plan for themselves and others
Excellent communication skills – ability to take a complex topic and explain it in simple terms for internal and external audiences
Strong track record of considering high-level regulatory matters and providing tailored content for consumption on topics for a non-specialist audience.
Solutions focused – acting as an enabler within the organisation
Ability to work with multiple and complex sources of data and draw out key insights
Ability to build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders – working across boundaries to deliver outcomes
Ability to influence and persuade others of a particular position or viewpoint
Confident in engaging with senior stakeholders and presenting at senior level meetings

Skills and Experiences Desirable:
Experience of working for, or closely with energy suppliers, energy networks or energy code administrators on regulatory matters.
Knowledge of energy Licences, including advising on regulatory risk management within the context of a Licensed organisation.
Working in a matrix management structure, being able to manage and coordinate work undertaken within functional and programme areas.
A programme or project management qualification (e.g. Prince2 Practitioner)
Base salary – £50 – £63,000 p/annum & 10% car allowance & discretionary 20% bonus & flexible benefits package
