PAY RANGE: $27.01 – $40.92
HOURS: Days, Start time varies between 7:00am – 8:00am with an 8 hour day
Call: Weekday, Weekend, and Holiday call rotation
JOB SUMMARY
The Sonographer maintains all standards of the Sonography Area established by the Department of Radiology. Schedules and completes all Ultrasound/Vascular procedures as described in the policy and procedure manual; assists in the coordination of procedures with the radiologist and interpreting physicians. Accurately identifies and transports patients to and from the department. Assumes responsibility for image management (PACS) and completes department related Hospital Information System (HIS) and Radiology Information System (RIS) functions. Responds to telephone inquiries and provides accurate information to customers of all age groups.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education [formal]:
Must be board eligible by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer.
Must be certified as a RDMS in ABD, OB/GYN, Breast and RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) with in a 2-year period.
Experience:
Demonstrated competence in Sonography is preferred
Special Skills and Competencies:
Must be able to take call.
May be required to alternate shifts.
Must possess a valid Iowa Driver’s License.
Must provide proof of Basic Life Support (BLS Healthcare Provider, American Heart Association; or American Red Cross, Professional Rescuer-LIVE class only) via current card prior to employment or within 60 days of hire and maintains current status.
Completes Mandatory Reporting: Child and Dependent Adult Abuse requirement within 6 months of hire and renews this requirement every 5 years.
