The Switchboard Operator provides prompt and efficient telephone communications to persons outside and/or within the organization, provides paging announcements by utilizing the public address system, greets the public, and provides patients and visitors with information they request, in accordance with established Policy guidelines.
Duties include answering incoming internal and external calls, directing callers to appropriate departments, preparing and distributing provider call schedules, and providing administrative assistance during emergencies.
The ideal candidate is a team player, detail-oriented, dependable and reliable, and friendly/helpful to both care team and patients. Prior switchboard and/or medical office experience is preferred, but willing to train the right candidate.
This is a full time, 32-hour position on evening shift.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Education: High school diploma, general education degree (GED) or equivalent, or one to three months’ related experience preferred.
Experience: Six months of experience in medical office or switchboard position is preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft applications is desired.
Detail-oriented and able to complete projects independently.
Excellent grammar, writing and organizational skills are desired.
