Vision Redbridge is a Charity and non – profit organisation working on behalf of the London Borough of Redbridge, in charge of delivering a wide range of Leisure and Culture services to the Redbridge Community. Our Parks and Open Spaces team are in charge of maintaining some of Redbridge’s most beautiful nature spots including Fairlop Waters, Hainault Forest and Valentines Park, alongside many others in the Redbridge area.
Redbridge has been successful in securing over £7m for the restoration and redevelopment of Hainault Forest and with the works due to complete in late 2022, we are looking for an experienced Venue Manager to manage Hainault Forest.
About the role:
As part of the commercial services team, you will be empowered to lead, motivate and engage an operational team at Hainault Forest to deliver high-quality services that meet the needs and expectations of our customers. This is an exciting new role which will offer a wide range of opportunities and challenges to develop the visitor facilities on site. Working on the edge of London, in a beautiful landscape with fabulous views, this role will offer great job satisfaction at this unique and inspiring green space
You will employ and develop a team to manage the venue which includes a converted victorian barn for events and functions, a café, educational interpretation space, play areas, artisan workshops, a market space and visitor farm. Alongside this you will manage the Head Ranger and oversee the delivery of the entire site including the management of the ancient woodland, protecting and improving our habitats, enhancing biodiversity to ensure the future of the forest for the next 50 years. You will lead on developing further the partnership between the company and the Woodland Trust who will be providing a new visitor centre within the barns complex
Desirable Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have venue and site management experience, sound people management and partnership skills, knowledge of events and functions and an understanding of food and beverage services. You will be motivated and have developed organisational skills, ability to plan and think decisively. A good understanding or previous management experience of working in a green space is desirable.
